Get a look at the new & improved Shredder in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2

03.14.2016

Actor Brian Tee, who scored an iconic-as-hell role as The Shredder in TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURLES: OUT OF THE SHADOWS, shared the first look of the new and improved villain over the weekend, which is looking much more aligned with the comics version rather than the mega Transformer/Silver Samurai version we got in the 2014 film. For one, we can see his eyes and it appears to actually be Tee in costume, rather than a computer generated nightmare with an arsenal of blades. Take a peek below...

I've always liked The Shredder. Maybe it's just the childhood nostalgia, the badass persona, or the shish kabob blades that would make The Predator proud, but he's a fun villain that makes for a great bane to our Heroes in a Half-Shell. While the first film in this newly rebooted franchise didn't quite knock it out of the park (I loved the turtles and Megan Fox, but kinda hated everything else) the sequel looks to pack a punch of that good ol' nostalgia I was talking about; Rocksteady, Bebop, Krang, Casey Jones, and a new, less digital Shredder. Much more promising and the trailers have been a blast, so I'm optimistic.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: OUT OF THE SHADOWS hits theaters on June 3, 2016.

This movie looks like utter trash just like the first one. I cant believe people are actually starting to say that the movies aren't that bad or that its "starting to look better". These turtles look like roided out shreks, alas, i do realize that kids love it, but just imagine if they took tmnt as presented more in a deadpool style, real outfits, real violence, raph and april gettin it on, I guess we can just dream....

So far everything about TMNT 2 is a big improvement over the first movie.

Well it's nice to see they're going a little more tradition with ol Shred Head, but how can the cg look so poor with all this money they're spending on it? Sheesh. Also, "out of the shadows"? As if they weren't already in the first atrocious movie...

FOR FANS OF THE ORGINAL

I'm really surprised nobody noticed that the song they use in the first trailer for out of shadows is the same song that plays in the background the first time we see shredders hideout where all those kids are skateboarding and playing arcade games, the scene where the kid asks if they got cigarettes, and he pulls out 2 cartons and says "you want menthol or regular?"

Nobody noticed because they're completely different songs. The trailer played Run DMC ("It's Tricky") while that scene in the 1990 movie was MC Hammer ("This Is What We Do").

Sam Rockwell's breakout roll was in Clown House. He played the older brother Randy. Unlike his co-star, Rockwell was lucky enough to not get molested by the pedophile director Victor Salva who, after serving only 15 months of his 3 year sentence for child molestation and child porn, went on to write and direct Powder and the Jeepers Creepers films.

Should be a fun movie for kids. Adults who grew up with TMNT isn't the target audience.

I highly disagree. I think this one is targeting fans of the original cartoon. Bebop and Ricksteady look exactly like their animated counterparts and it looks like Krang and his body look very similar to the cartoon as well.
