For Television...
Let's go Michael C. Hall for Best Actor in a Drama and for the show "Dexter" for Best Drama. After that season finale of season 4, my jaw hit the floor.

Really glad for Basterds. Waltz HAS to win supporting actor - his performance is classic. Also glad for Hurt Locker and 500 Days. On the bad side: where's Zooey? :(

I'm kind of sick of seeing Streep nominated every year because she is Streep. We all know she's great, but It's complicated looks like her worst film in years. Oh well, no one really cares about the GG's anyway.

Your missing a nom on the "Foreign Language" category: "The Maid"

Besides that not very impressed, but not dissapointed either, I never expect much from the Golden Globes, they usually reward the big names over the independant gems.

That's the only explanation for Avatar and Cameron getting so much love, and Sandra Bullock a double nomination?!

NO DISTRICT 9!?
How the hell did Avatar get on this list but District 9 didn't? no wonder the Golden Globes are a poor man's Oscars.

Ill say one good thing about these awards, it offers variety. In the sense that 70% of these noms will not be nominated for oscars.

Michael Giacchino for UP, FTW!! Easily the best score of 2009, IMO.

It's also good to see Tarantino get some love.

Sam Rockwell being ignored is near blasphemy. Am I the only one who thinks that Away We Go should be up for at least one award? And if Sandra Bullock or Precious win any awards I will destroy everything near me. Overall not a bad list though.

I haven't seen "Moon" yet but I hear great things. Also, I loved LOVED the movie "Away We Go" and thought that the movie was perfect in every way. It was one of my favorite movies of the year.

Predictable
A lot of it was predictable. Back in 2007 Ryan Gosling failed to get a nom for Half Nelson and rightfully got it at the Oscars. I think it'll be the same case for Jeremy Renner this year. He's the best hope for a small actor getting praise cause unfortunately no one gives a shit about Sam Rockwell & Sharlito Copley, which is the biggest shame of all. pretty solid list for the Golden Globes. Might be their most solid list in a long time. Of course the foreign films are missing some essentials, but i've never counted on any award show to get that right.

I can't comment on much as I have yet to watch a lot of things on the list, but I am surprised at the inclusion of Julie & Julia. Really bad film.

He shouldn't get it for just being James Cameron, he should get it because he is James Cameron and the fact that Avatar is really good. He's still an amazing director though.

As each year passes, I care less and less about all these awards shows. I mean, I'm always going to want the films I fall in love with to receive the recognition they deserve, so I'll always care to a certain degree; but I'd rather just kick back an enjoy a movie rather than stressing about whether it'll get a nomination for this, or a nomination for that. Interesting that you compare his performance to an actor in Point Break, considering the director of Hurt Locker, Kathryn Bigelow, also directed Point Break. I don't know if you considered this when you made the comparison.

Definitely not the only one. He's amazing. Him and Rockwell both deserve their long-deserved nominations. He's the best shot for one of them too so I hope he pulls it off. But like I said check out how Gosling didn't get a Globe but got on Oscar nomination in 2007. He should have won but no one could take down Forest Whitaker screaming for 2 hours.

All in all, a good list of nominees
Glad to see all the love for Up in the Air, the Hurt Locker, and Avatar. I have only two real complaints: Viggo Mortensen should have gotten Tobey Maguire's spot in the Best Dramatic Actor category, and Saoirse Ronan should have been nominated for Lovely Bones. Other than that, I can't complain.

Best Picture "Comedy"
What pisses me off is "Nine" & "It's Complicated" getting Best Picture nods. Granted there are only a few reviews, but both flicks stand under 40% on Rotten Tomatoes? And these are the movies up for Best Picture? They better get a lot more positive reviews soon to justify it.

God bless "(500) Days" getting nomintaed, along with "Inglourious." My 2 favorite movies this year.

WTF?!?!? Where is "THE ROAD"?
Where in the fuck is "THE ROAD"? It's only the Globes so I'm not worried, the Oscars are usually hugely different.

Viggo deserves Best Actor for "The Road"

Galafanakis for "The Hangover"

Why is THE LOVELY BONES getting no awards attention?
I haven't seen it, so for all I know it could be a huge disappointment, but I was expecting it to get TONS of awards attention.

It seems to be getting completely ignored by everyone.

Wow, that's... very surprising. It had "Oscar winner" written all over it (in my eyes, at least). I mean, let's be honest, I should have realised it wasn't going to be a masterpiece as soon as Ryan Gosling left and Marky Mark stepped in to replace him.

I love MOON and Rockwell as much as everyone else here, but I don't know why it comes as a surprise to people when it isn't honored by these things. It flew very comfortably under the radar for the most part and didn't have Meryl Streep in it, thus making it unfit for these kind of things... I don't like it, but I'm not surprised by it.
