Hilarious clip from Gerard Johnstone’s Housebound haunts the bathroom

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Just last week we saw the kickass festival poster for Gerard Johnstone's SXSW hit HOUSEBOUND, and now that it's coming off of its Monday night premiere a new clip has been sent our way and it's pretty damn funny. Early word on HOUSEBOUND has been quite positive as it seems to have found that perfect balance of mixing eerie chills with humor—sounds like a pretty good time to me! Below is a clip in which we see just how much of a pain in the ass it can be to go to the bathroom in a haunted house.

SXSW Schedule:
Tuesday, 3/11 @ 4:30 PM – SXSatellite: Alamo Slaughter
Thursday, 3/13 @ 9:45 PM – Rollins Theatre at The Long Center

Kylie Bucknell is forced to return to the house she grew up in when the court places her on home detention. Her punishment is made all the more unbearable by the fact she has to live there with her mother Miriam – a well-intentioned blabbermouth who’s convinced that the house is haunted. Kylie dismisses Miriam’s superstitions as nothing more than a distraction from a life occupied by boiled vegetables & small town gossip. However, when she too becomes privy to unsettling whispers & strange bumps in the night, she begins to wonder whether she’s inherited her overactive imagination, or if the house is in fact possessed by a hostile spirit who’s not particularly thrilled about her return.

HOUSEBOUND is directed by Gerard Johnstone and stars Morgana O’Reilly, Rima Te Wiata, Glen-Paul Waru, Cameron Rhodes, Millen Baird, Ross Harper, Bruce Hopkins, Ryan Lampp, Ian Mune and Wallace Chapman.
