Hot Tub Time Machine gets posterized

01.28.2010

Maybe it's just me but I've liked what I've seen so far from HOT TUB TIME MACHINE, especially the latest red-band trailer. The new poster is here and tries to use a little math to explain how four guys wind up going back in time to the 80s. I don't want to spoil anything but I've heard from sources that it involves a hot tub time machine. What's a little weird is that the image they used for young John Cusack doesn't really look like young John Cusack from his 80s movies days. Anyway, take a look at the poster below and click through to Entertainment Weekly for a larger version.

Extra Tidbit: What's your favorite 80s John Cusack flick?

One Crazy Summer and Better Off Dead

Gotta be a toss up between One Crazy Summer and Better Off Dead. One Crazy had Bob Cat who is Hilarious in everything he does, and Better Off had an animated dancing burger and two hilarious asian guys pretending to be Howard Cossal! Funny!

Say Anything, for sure. Young John Cusack and Young Rob Cordddddry look decent enough, but why does Young Craig Robinson look nothing like him? They didn't even try...

Better Off Dead is Cussack's best 80's film. Hot Tub Time Machine this year's The Hangover?

say anything...

When I think about it, it feels like John Cusack should still be a teenager; his 80s movies still stand up so well today that they're almost timeless. So seeing him as an adult and seeing someone playing his "younger side", it's kinda freaky deaky. But nonetheless awesomely cool.

they should charge 80's movie and concession prices as a promotional boost for the film. I bet a lot of people would see it and they would make more money than they normally would have. people love a bargain.

Better Off Dead probably edges out (but just slightly) Tapeheads as my favorite 80's John Cusack movie.

A Couple of things..

This movie looks awesome and this poster further proves that. The poster is ridiculously funny and is definitely one of the better posters I have seen in awhile. This is my most anticipated movie for 2010 (yes even more anticipated then Iron Man 2 and Inception).

As for the extra tidbit, my favorite John Cusack movie from the 80's would have to be "Say Anything". Movie is amazing....close second is "Better Off Dead".

My favorite film he appeared in during the 80s was Stand By Me. But if you're talking about films in which he had a major role I'd have to go with Eight Men Out.
