Is Warner Bros. already searching for someone to write the sequel to Man of Steel?

11.15.2011

Not surprised at all by this news. There's a little rumor going around that Warner Bros. is searching for writers to pen the sequel to MAN OF STEEL.

Apparently the execs like what they see and want to go ahead with a sequel ASAP. Who cares what they think, when do we get to see something from the film beside the 800 set photos? I know it might be a little while since the film doesn't actually release until 2013.

So who is Warner Bros. trying to get for the sequel? Well the short list includes Steve Kloves (When is this guy not up for writing something?), Travis Beacham (CLASH OF THE TITANS, PACIFIC RIM), and Lawrence Kasdan (RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK). These guys have already taken a dip in the Warners pool so there's nothing too out of the ordinary here.

Which one of those writers would you go with?

If they like what they see why not get Nolan back to write the sequel?

*cough*bullshit*cough*

Right, just like they were working on Green Lantern because it was meant to be an epic trilogy. Didn't they say the same thing about Superman Returns? Make the ONE good movie!!!

Jerry Seinfeld

The dude LOVES Superman, he's a writer, he respects the source material. it's completely out of left field and might sound like a joke, but it isn't. Remember Michael Chabon wrote the best Spider-Man, so Seinfeld doing Superman seems inspired to me.

Wait

I'm all fine for the sequel to get into the works..but 2013? I might have missed that nugget before. Damn that's a long time. Hopefully there's another superhero that will grace the screen next summer while I wait. ;)
