James Cameron says Schwarzenegger may play human character in Terminator 6

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

James Cameron is a f*cking genius.

In what just might be the coolest news we've heard come out of THE TERMINATOR franchise since the announcement of T2: JUDGEMENT DAY Schwarzenegger may be playing a human character in the upcoming film(s).

Not only that but said TERMINATOR 6 human character is the basis of the T-800 design!

Yes, we've already seen a joke version of this in TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES, but that was a (duh) joke version, so I'm incredibly interested to see this "human character's" storyline play out in the new film(s) as an older/CGI Arnold is getting harder and harder to take in these films.

Even cooler still is this news comes to us straight from the mouth of Mr. James Cameron himself, who sat down with The Arnold Fans and gave new info on the upcoming sixth TERMINATOR flick, including a bit where he says the new film may explore the T-800's human basis.

James Cameron on TERMINATOR 6:

"Yeah, you got to ask yourself, ‘Why did they make these characters look and sound like Arnold? There has to be a reason. So yeah, it has flashed through my mind that there has to have been a prototype.

There has to have been a guy who’s DNA was harvested from – that they grew the organic outter layer that they grew the Terminator from…and that presumibly was a real person at some point.

Now, the question is, did that person have some sort of meaning to Skynet on WHY they chose that one (Arnold)? Or was it like a whole rack of Terminators and the one that happened to be the Arnold model just happened to be closest to the door going out to the time displacement center and all the others looked different?

I’ve asked myself these questions but it’s never been resolved…so stay tuned!

We’re talking pretty seriously now about doing some new Terminator films or possibly a trilogy and you’ll just have to see what surfaces in those.”
