Jason Rothenberg writes Twilight Zone screenplay for Warner Bros. and Leonardo DiCaprio

“There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone…”

Warner Bros. and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way have been developing a new TWILIGHT ZONE film and have brought a new writer on board. Jason Rothenberg will be writing a new draft of the screenplay. Rothenberg was a long time assistant who seems to finally be getting his big break in screenwriting.

Rothenberg is currently adapting THE FORBIN PROJECT, which is a new version of the 1970 Joseph Sargent-directed scifi story COLOSSUS: THE FORBIN PROJECT. Ron Howard is attached to direct with Will Smith starring in, “a contemporary Frankenstein story about the world’s first sentient computer and the misunderstood genius who gains power over the world because of it.”

There aren’t many details on the new TWILIGHT ZONE movie just yet. They are hoping to take some of the original stories written for the series by the likes of Rod Serling and Richard Matheson.

I could certainly be up for this especially since DiCaprio has his hand in it.
