Julianne Moore joins The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Catching Fire projected to hit $950 million worldwide

It was announced over the weekend that another great addition has joined THE HUNGER GAMES franchise. Julianne Moore has been cast as President Alma Coin in THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKING JAY PART 1 and 2. The film adaptations for the popular young adult series has attracted better than expected talent, and Moore should be a great fit as the leader of the rebellion against the Capital.

Meanwhile, Alan Gould from the investment group Evercore is predicting THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE will make about $950 million worldwide, even though the film isn't out for another two months. The movie is projected to make $375 million domestically and $575 million in foreign markets. The first film made $691 million, but only $283 million of that came from overseas. A small drop domestically makes sense, but if CATCHING FIRE does perform that well in international markets it would be more than enough to cover the decreased domestic total.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE is out November 22, 2013. THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKING JAY PART 1 will be in theaters on November 21st, 2014 and PART 2 drops on November 20, 2015.
