I'm sure, by now, you know the story of the original trailer for HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN. Jason Eisener, John Davies, and Rob Cotterill won a contest at SXSW sponsored by Robert Rodriguez and the movie GRINDHOUSE. The trio created a trailer for a fake grindhouse film called "Hobo With a Shotgun" and as a result of their win, the trailer was played in select screenings of GRINDHOUSE in both the US and Canada. But somewhere along the way, Eisener got money to make a full-length HOBO film, not unlike what Rodriguez did with MACHETE and today the real teaser trailer is upon us!

While I would love to say that this trailer will premiere in theaters today with prints of MACHETE (where it would meet an enthusiastic response) but sadly that's never gonna happen...and that's part of why this trailer is so damn good. You've seen red-band trailers before but this is a RED-band trailer. It's filled with blood and guts and hardcore deaths all set to a speech by Rutger Hauer (as your titular Hobo) that will make you want to stand up and say, "F*ck yeah!"

I don't know how far along Eisener is in making this movie but after seeing this trailer, HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN is something I need to see ASAP.

Some of those scenes looks pretty cringe-worthy, but man what a casting win to get RUTGER HAUER in a micro-Indie like this. That's pretty damn impressive/lucky.

I'm all up for this. Everything Grindhouse has been awesome. Saw Machete last night, so I'm still in shock of amazement on how kick ass it was.

The music and colors and dialog seem so Carpenter like in the beginning, but then they crank up the energy maybe a little too much, way more than they had to. Still looks fun though
