Uncork'd Entertainment has set a September 6th DVD and VOD release for the "thought-provoking chiller" THE EVIL GENE, the feature debut of writer/director/producer Kathryn F. Taylor.

Starring Richard Speight Jr. and Cameron Richardson, the film has the following synopsis:

FBI Agent Griff Krenshaw is sent to a top-secret prison and research facility where the U.S. government has segregated federal inmates possessing the so-called "evil gene," a rare genetic defect that triggers violent, psychotic breakdowns in those who carry it. As Griff attempts to investigate the death of the facility's head researcher, he becomes convinced that there's an evil force at work in the prison… and it isn't human.

Also in the cast are Lindsey Ginter, Anthony L. Fernandez, Gene Gabriel, Ted Heyck, and James Crosby .

THE EVIL GENE will be available digitally through iTunes, Xbox, Google, Vudu, Amazon, DirecTV, Dish, and more. DVDs will be available for purchase at Walmart and for rental at Family Video.
