Lissome British ingenue Keira Knightley has been stuck in the past ever since she swashbuckled her way to international stardom with PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN. She started in World War II for the critically acclaimed romantic drama ATONEMENT, she moved to 19th century France for the little-seen romantic drama SILK and, most recently, she became an 18th century aristocrat for the upcoming drama THE DUCHESS. In it, she plays Georgiana, duchess of Devonshire, who, much like Marie Antoinette, was “alternately celebrated and reviled for her extravagant political and personal lives.” The first trailer, in all its hedonistic glory, recently made its way to Moviefone and you can check it out over HERE. The film will be released next year, maybe in time for some awards consideration.
