Ken Jeong leapt off stage mid-show to help someone having a seizure

Step aside, Marvel and DC, a real superhero has recently arrived on the scene, and his name is Ken Jeong! During a recent performance at the Stand Up Live Comedy Club on Saturday night in Phoenix, comedic actor Ken Jeong jumped from the stage mid-set to assist an audience member suffering from a seizure. According to sources that were present at the event, Jeong rushed to the patron's aid when it was established that she was in medical distress. According to multiple reports, Jeong, who is also a licensed medical doctor, was assisted by a medical technician until EMT authorities could arrive.

When asked for comment, members of the audience said that at first Jeong believed the woman to be a heckler, but then rushed to her side after another attendee confirmed the urgency of the matter.

“He couldn’t see what was going on with the lights. He thought he was being heckled. He was playing with them from the stage for a second,” Heather Holmberg, who was in the audience, told USA Today. “And it was like, ‘No, no, no. We need you!’ He realized there was an issue, and he came over. It was a moment where time stands still. Someone was having a crisis. There was a hush over the room.”

Reports show the Jeong stayed with the woman until medical staff could arrive to take her to the hospital. After the frightening intermission concluded, the COMMUNITY and DR. KEN star returned to the stage to complete his set, where he was met with a deafening round of applause for his heroic actions. During the early days of his career, Jeong completed his residency at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans.

I love stories like this, as I feel that they serve as a reminder that actors often have talents beyond their ability to transform into characters on screen. If I may, I'd like to personally tip my hat to Mr. Jeong, as keeping a cool head under pressure is no easy task, nor is tending to someone in medical distress until hospital staff members can arrive to access the situation. Well done, sir.
