Blumhouse Productions teamed with WWE Studios to acquire the worldwide rights to director J.D. Dillard's "IRON MAN meets THE PRESTIGE" film SLEIGHT after the movie was screened at Sundance in 2016, and is preparing to give SLEIGHT a theatrical release this April. Before that movie even comes out, Blumhouse is already set to continue their working relationship with Dillard by producing his next project, a horror thriller called SWEETHEART.

Details on the plot of SWEETHEART are being kept tightly under wraps, but the screenplay was written by Dillard, his SLEIGHT co-writer Alex Theurer, and Alex Hyner. The three writers will be producing the film alongside Jason Blum and Bill Karesh.

Whatever SWEETHEART is, it's set to star Kiersey Clemons, who got her start working on Disney Channel productions. She has since appeared on television series like Transparent, Extant, and Easy. She had her own Sundance success with the film DOPE in 2015, will be seen in the DC Comics movies JUSTICE LEAGUE and THE FLASH, and has a role in the upcoming FLATLINERS reboot.

Dillard and Blumhouse aren't wasting any time getting SWEETHEART together. Filming is expected to begin in the spring.
