Just yesterday I mentioned the Hollywood scramble to pair young talent with hot properties in an attempt to capitalize on the eventual theatrical disappearance of HARRY POTTER and TWILIGHT movies.
And while kid star Taylor Lautner is reportedly heading to INCARCERON, his ABDUCTION co-star and rumored galpal Lily Collins has a potential franchise of her own: THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS.
Collins will play Clary Fray, a seemingly ordinary New York teen who discovers she is the descendent of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of warriors dedicated to driving demons out of our world. When Clary’s mother disappears, she must join a daring group of young Shadowhunters on an adventure that leads her through a world filled with mischievous fairies, eccentric warlocks, werewolf gangs and other strange creatures that Buffy somehow overlooked.
The Screen Gems movie is based on bestselling book series by Cassandra Clare, and will be directed by Scott Stewart (LEGION), who already directed Collins in the upcoming monster-hunting flick PRIEST.
