Martin Scorsese could take on The Snowman after Hugo

Wondering what Martin Scorsese’s next film will be after HUGO? It’s quite possible that it will be an adaptation of Norwegian author Jo Nesbø’s bestselling mystery novel, “The Snowman”.

The director has been circling the project for a bit now and as he gets closer to putting the finish touches on HUGO his interest in the adaptation has grown.

Matthew Michael Carnahan (THE KINGDOM, WORLD WAR Z) is in talks to pen the adaptation. The seventh story in the Harry Hole detective series concerns a missing woman whose pink scarf is found wrapped around an ominous-looking snowman. Hole discovers that the crime may be the work of a serial killer. Yes, is name his Harry Hole. Did I immaturely laugh at this? Yes, yes I did.

Nesbø’s success could soon be comparable to that of Swedish author Stieg Larsson especially if the novel does get the big screen treatment.

Two reasons I want Scorsese to pick this up: 1. I can write “Scorsese’s Snowman” in my articles relating to the topic. 2. I have an excuse to write the words “Harry Hole”.
