Max Borenstein returning to script Godzilla sequel

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

I can admit that this summer's GODZILLA had its fair share of problems (the biggest being the lack of screentime for the titular beastie), but overall I had a lot of fun with it. It's no surprise that we'll be seeing the King of Monsters return for another flick, which has already landed a June 8, 2018 release date, and now Deadline is reporting that Max Borenstein will be returning to write the script for the Gareth Edwards-helmed sequel.

Borenstein, whose other projects include PALADIN, MONA, the upcoming Legendary project SEVENTH SON, and the "Minority Report" pilot for Steven Spielberg from 20th Century Fox TV and Paramount TV, is also writing the script for another Legendary project, the Tom Hiddleston-starring SKULL ISLAND.

I'm excited for another go-around with GODZILLA. I'm just hoping that Borenstein gives us more GODZILLA action for the sequel. More on GODZILLA 2 as we hear it.
