Michael Keaton would do a Beetlejuice sequel in a heartbeat

The mere thought of this ever happening sends my heart into a frenzy.

The first movie I ever fell in love with was about the ghost with the most, BEETLEJUICE. Of course, I wanted to be Lydia, the depressed goth chick played by Winona Ryder.

A sequel never once crossed my mind. I figured that Tim Burton would not go back and touch any of these characters again.

However, two of the original cast members would be up for a second chapter.

Moviehole spoke with Geena Davis last month who seemed very excited about the idea, “It’s funny, [another journalist] just asked me about a sequel to BEETLEJUICE – which, though I haven’t heard anything about it, might be interesting. I would do that!” The actress then pondered on how it would work, “Thing is, do ghosts age? Wouldn’t we be stuck in the age we were? Alec [Baldwin] and I would have to look as we did then – who knows, maybe we could? I better get in touch with Tim Burton.”

Then yesterday at the TOY STORY 3 junket, Moviehole spoke with Michael Keaton about the possibility. It went a little something like this:

Moviehole: “Not sure if you know this but they’re going to show BEETLEJUICE at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery…”

MK: “Oh Cool.”

MH: “We were wondering, is there going to be a sequel? I heard Geena Davis is ready to go if it happens.”

MK: “Oh, I’d do that in a heartbeat.”

MH: “Would you do it?”

MK: Absolutely, that’s the one thing I’d love to do again.

MH: “That’s great.”

MK: “That’s the only one I’d love to do.”

It would be great to see Keaton back in the black and white stripes, but I just don’t see it ever happening.

However, I still want my own “Handbook for the Recently Diseased”, I mean “Deceased”.
