Montoya in Batman?

100%
Besides the returning characters (like Alfred, Jim Gordon and probably Bruce Wayne), we know some of the new faces in Christopher Nolan's BATMAN follow-up THE DARK KNIGHT will include the Joker and Harvey Dent, the future Two-Face. But who else might we see from The Bat's print or 'toon past?

How about Gotham City police officer Renee Montoya? Fans of the exemplary BATMAN ANIMATED SERIES will recall Montoya as the lovely Latino lady partnered with cantankerous detective Harvey Bullock. The character also appears in recent DC Comics, but with a delicious twist of lesbian, hey!

According to the weekly comic column Lying in the Gutters, auditions for the character are currently taking place. And while Montoya's face-time in the finished flick is unknown, Gutter's writer Rich Johnston is usually on target in regards to all things comic-related.
Extra Tidbit: In his earliest comic book appearances, Batman maimed and killed criminals without compunction. Not long after the character met with success, the editor decreed that Batman would not kill or use firearms.

Awesome Knews

That'd be awesome if Nolan starts incorporating shit from the Animated Series... which I thought was better than Returns, Forever and the POS with Schwarz... As for casting, how about Gina Gershon?

Easiest casting ever: Salma Hayek.

Here's hoping Bullock makes an appearance as well. I'd also love to see a Harley Quinn appearance as Joker's psychologist or something. Just a minute of screentime, would make me happy.

good news and all...but BigShime...in all honesty, NO MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ! i cannot stand her. shes not hot in any way, shape, or form...and has no talent. she plays the same exact role in every movie which bores the living shit out of me...anyone but her...

Pretty cool

That's pretty cool news. Usually it's all about forgetting cartoon series but I'm definately of the consensus that Batman: The Animated Series (and Mask of The Phantasm) are some of the best representations of the character... so bring on some of the toon characters. Bullock, Montoya, hell maybe even a variation of Harley Quinn

That's great news. Who are they looking at playing the role? The first thing that came to mind was Michelle Rodriguez. Latino, lesbian, cop. she'd fill the role nicely. I'm hopeful that Bullock will make an appearance.

I agree with cerealkiller, I really enjoyed the comic issues with Bullock focused on. Hopefully he'll be in the movie also, that would be badass.
