New TV spot and poster are revealed for Stallone's Bullet to the Head

After starring together in THE EXPENDABLES 2 this past August, these first months of the 2013 see action icons Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone each headlining their own throwback-ish flick - Schwarzenegger of course has THE LAST STAND (releasing January 18th), while Stallone has Walter Hill's BULLET TO THE HEAD with Jason Momoa, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Christian Slater, Sung Kang, and Sarah Shah.

Not quite the likes of Schwarzenegger's Peter Stormare, Eduardo Noriega, Forest Whitaker, Jaimie Alexander, and Genesis Rodriguez, but they'll do just fine.  BULLET TO THE HEAD is its own kind of project well removed from Schwarzenegger's, and looks to be a solid enough tale of a cop gone off the beaten path to stop the sort of violence that won't listen to reason.  Whether the rest of the movie lives up to the tone established by the recent trailer and this TV spot remains to be seen, and though my hopes are far from high I'm certainly happy to be surprised.

We'll know soon enough though - BULLET TO THE HEAD releases February 1st.

Are you looking forward to Stallone's latest solo action story? And if not, why?

Extra Tidbit: Walter Hill's THE WARRIORS still completely holds up. Awesome awesome flick.

Tom Jane was set to play the NY cop who teams up with Stallone, but Joel Silver felt the movie needed to be more "ethnic" or some such shit and shit-canned Jane for Sung Kang.

WARRIORS was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid.. I must have seen it atleast 50 times. But you have to be out of your mind to say it still holds up. I still like it for nostalgia, but the movie is flat out ridiculous. I was born and raised in the bronx so I thought it was cool, but as an adult it just seems so ludicrous. Only one guy in the hundreds of gangs has access to a gun and Mime gangs. Dude please.

The movie lives off of that image of stallone. I would like to see more of something else. I am looking forward to old fashioned stand-alone Sly film.

I'm looking forward to The Last Stand a whole lot more, Bullet to the Head seems to have more of a direct-to-DVD feel, doesn't seem as fun or as entertaining, and the supporting cast doesn't look as good as Arnold's as well - but I will check both films out.

I was excited as Hell for this but then the release's delay of a year completely blew my expectations

If it's half decent I'll be happy I guess but I'm not expecting much.
