O. Russell vs Zombies | Movie News
A mash-up of a Jane Austen literary classic and the munching undead is odd enough... so why not add an unorthodox auteur?
According to Pajiba, purportedly impulsive director David O. Russell (THREE KINGS, I ♥ HUCKABEES) is raising the deceased for the adaptation PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES, based on the recent remix novel.
As was officially announced the other day, the divine Natalie Portman will star as heroine Elizabeth Bennet, who now finds her attention divided between the pompous Mr. Darcy and her own war against hordes of flesh-eating rotters. Portman is also producing, along with Richard Kelly's Darko Films.
Russell is currently turning the screws on the boxing story THE FIGHTER, which he picked up after Darren Aronofsky, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon retreated (the movie now stars Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg).

This project sounds kind of weird to begin with, too. Even though it was Zombie-less, didn't Kiera Knightely JUST play Elizabeth Bennett? It just seems like any scene without zombies is going to seem weak compared to the last P&P, weakening it when the Zombies do come in.
