Pixar’s Ant-Man?

UPDATECHUD got official confirmation that the below story isn’t true. Says Wright in a statement, “The news that Pixar is involved is not wholly accurate and a little premature to comment on.” You can read his full statement at the link above.

Ever since the mashing together joyous union of Disney and Marvel, we’ve been speculating how Pixar would play into the whole merger. Once quotes like “Everyone started to get very excited, very quickly” started pouring forth from Pixar/Marvel meetings, it was further cause for celebration. But now Entertainment Weekly has a solitary line that’s causing speculation on the specifics of what could be the very first Pixar/Marvel double team.

“Marvel has thousands of characters to feed Disney’s film, TV, and animation business (Pixar is said to already be eyeballing an Ant-Man movie). As Iron Man proved, they don’t need to be iconic to become blockbusters.”

As you may recall, Edgar Wright and his dynamic duo of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost were at one time looking at ANT-MAN, and presumably they wouldn’t be sticking around if the project went completely CGI. As much as I love Pixar, it’s entirely possible that I love Wright, Pegg and Frost even more. That being said however, I’m just so damn interested to see what a Marvel/Pixar collaboration would look like, I wouldn’t care if they made an Armless Tiger Man movie, just so I could see what they could do.
