A few days after they were so kind as to wish us a Happy New Year, the folks behind the marketing campaign for PRIDE & PREJUDICE & ZOMBIES have just released a new TV spot for the historical zombie bash, one that tells you to fight like a lady. Which, in this film’s world, means fight like a complete badass and look utterly hot while doing it. This movie, silly as it may seem, has my attention.
A zombie outbreak has fallen upon the land in this reimagining of Jane Austen’s classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England. Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is a master of martial arts and weaponry and the handsome Mr. Darcy is a fierce zombie killer, yet the epitome of upper class prejudice. As the zombie outbreak intensifies, they must swallow their pride and join forces on the blood-soaked battlefield in order to conquer the undead once and for all.
Directed by Burr Steers, PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES stars Lily James, Sam Riley, Jack Huston, Bella Heathcote, Douglas Booth, Matt Smith, Charles Dance, and Lena Headey. It opens February 5th.
