Quicksilver & Multiple Man to be featured in rumored X-Men TV series?

A couple of days ago we learned a live-action X-Men TV show might be in the works, and now Film Divider has some details on the rumored series. According to the site, Fox doesn’t want to go the Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. route with no-name/unfamiliar characters, and two characters they’re considering using for the series are Quicksilver and Multiple Man.

If the series ends up being set in present day Fox would have to recast for Quicksilver, but if it’s a period piece, there’s a chance they could get Evan Peters to reprise his role from X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. Multiple Man played a big part in Peter David’s run of X-Factor, and Film Divider thinks basing the series on those comics would be a good idea since it wouldn’t involve that many major characters from the X-Men universe. Eric Dane played Multiple Man in X-MEN: THE LAST STAND, however it’s not clear if Fox has contacted Dane about playing the character again.

Film Divider goes on to say Fox is also interested in having a female lead for the series, and they want it to air sometime in 2016, when DEADPOOL and X-MEN: APOCALYPSE are scheduled to be released. And no surprise here, but apparently Simon Kinberg is involved with the show’s development.

Very interesting stuff from Film Divider, but like the original story from earlier this week, this is only a rumor. If it is true though (and I have my fingers crossed it is), hopefully we’ll learn more about the series in the near future.

Do you think Fox is developing a live-action X-Men series, and what do you think about these possible plans for the show?
