Repo Men posters show the high cost of organs

Jan. 25, 2010by:

The central idea behind the upcoming sci-fi/action flick REPO MEN (formerly REPOSSESSION MAMBO) revolves around corporate agents sent to retrieve high-dollar body parts from delinquent payers. And considering these prices, no wonder the "health" company is looking at their bottom line.

I'm not sure why futuristic livers look like the alien from THE HIDDEN or why kidneys will resemble automobile taillight covers, but I suppose that makes it easy to tell which direction someone plans to turn (unless like most people, they refuse to use their goddamn signal).

The movie stars Jude Law and Forest Whitaker as the organ collectors of the title, with Liev Schreiber as the evil CEO.

Extra Tidbit: The superficially similar REPO MEN and REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA not only both filmed at the same time (October 2007), but were being edited at adjacent post-production facilities.

these look really good, and yeah, iŽd probably would have done something different with the organs, but still, job well done i say!

now to all the haters out here saying that "Repo! The Genetic Opera" is the better movie and this one is a ripoff, grow up people, just because a movie has similar outlines to another flick, doesnŽt make it a bad movie altogether, and besides, you beloved "Repo! The Genetic Opera" has paris hilton on the cast, so how good can it be? :D :D :D

Decent posters

The movie could go either way, but I'll still probably see it anyways solely for the fact that a bunch of scenes were filmed around the corner from me at my local hospital.

could been better

well good thinking but realistic organs on a xray graphic is a really bad idea, too contrast cuttings makes the poster graphicly bad looking, designer should have made the artifical organs looks like the x ray style as well, could work better that way. But i am still looking forward to see the movie, looks awesome.

I haven't seen the trailer, but the cast is good, but I hate the new title, immensely, and do think it could suck, thus the shelf holding time.

It's my opinion that the only reason this movie got held for so long is because the ending is so extremely violent that it's almost pornographic. I would rate it X, if I was the MPAA. That said, it's awesome.

The Barcodes Make the Movie

I saw this movie almost 2 years ago at a test screening and it's bloody awesome. I saw one of many of the endings they were trying out and all I hope is that they went a different way.

It's a rental.

Other than the obvious pilfering of narrative from The Genetic Opera this film also has a mediocre trailer going for it. I'm sure it won't be too bad but definitely not a movie you need to rush out and watch at the cinema.

Barcodes? Really.

It's interesting to see what they might have been able to do with the advertising for RTGO had they actually had the budget. Even the barcode advertisement is so very similar to the logo for RTGO.

RIP OFF

I refuse to get excited about a film that is so obviously a blatant rip off.
THE GENETIC OPERA forever.

It's not a rip off, because the idea of an organ getting repoed has been thrown around since the first heart transplant. Read a short story in a sci-fi mag, why don't you. The idea is as old as dirt.

It's not a rip-off at all, They were made at the same time. One was just released sooner than the other.
