Rodriguez to jail

10.11.2007
If you're like me and try to avoid celebrity gossip about barely popular stars like you try to avoid the crack whore stumbling down the street after her teeth, then you might not know that Michelle Rodriguez (THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS) has just been sentenced to 6 months in jail for several DUI-related charges. The question though, is what will the repercussions on Jim Cameron's AVATAR be, if any? She was cast as ex-Marine pilot Trudy Chacon and even though many of the live-action segments have already been shot, and Rodriguez possibly done, Cameron does like to fiddle with his projects. The chance of her coming back for re-shoots seems to have evaporated with the prison sentence, so hopefully the 3-D epic isn't going to be hurt at all by this. The film will almost certainly be about more than just her, but still, this film is gonna be a f*cking event and I would like for everything to be as Cameron intended.
Extra Tidbit: Rodriguez is an avid karaoke singer.

Well...

...they can always drag a green screen and camera into her cell for pickup shots. Like most, I'm still underwhelmed by her "talent".

HA!

This won't effect anything. She'll get released if Cameron needs her to. Remember that hollywood is above the law. No matter what anyone thinks. It's fact.

Hm...or maybe they'll just have to re-shoot all her scenes with a different *cough*actuallytalented*cough* actress.

Ew

I'm not a fan of Rodriguez, she pretty much plays the same character in every single film/tv show. Yeah, we get that you're a bad ass, you don't need to keep proving it, it just comes across as phoney. Even when she's trying to act seriously, like the few 'touching' moments she had in LOST, they seemed forced.
Still, I hope she hasn't fucked up Camerons plans for the movie. No one should get in that mans way! (Although I'm sure he could replace her digitally an no one would know the

If Cameron wants to do re-shoots with Rodriguez, her bail is probably pocket money to him.
