SAG Award winners

Before you ask, no, I didn’t watch the SAG Awards last night. I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. It’s actually been quite refreshing without all the red carpet shenanigans that usually go on this time of year. And besides, I’ve almost beaten “Super Mario Galaxy” and that demanded my full attention. But in retrospect, the SAG winners were pretty status quo with the exception of Ruby Dee beating out favored Amy Ryan of GONE BABY GONE. Even though TV is not our forte, big congrats to Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin for picking up Best Actress and Best Actor trophies for their work on “30 Rock.” I’ll bet you never thought you’d see the day in which Daniel Day Lewis and Tina Fey were accepting acting awards on the same night, but here we are. And I couldn’t love those two more. Couldn’t we get them in a movie together? “Daniel Day-Lewis. Tina Fey. ROSES FOR EMILY.” Yes ROSES FOR EMILY is the fake name of a movie I just came up with that would star DDL and Tina Fey. Haven’t thought of a plot yet but it’s definitely a period piece/comedy. Enough babbling, here’s a list of the winners from the film categories:

Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture
NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role
Daniel Day-Lewis, THERE WILL BE BLOOD

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role
Julie Christie, AWAY FROM HER

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role
Javier Bardem, NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role
Ruby Dee, AMERICAN GANGSTER

Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture
THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM

UPDATE – Photo galleries from the event last night can be found at our sister site Movie Hotties. Check out the SAG gallery and see exactly what Angelina Jolie was hiding under that dress.
