Saw 5 red band

09.18.2008

Lionsgate just released a red band clip from SAW V featuring, surprise, surprise, some dude in the midst of a home-made torture trap courtesy of the fun loving Jigsaw. Just do the age verification thing and you're good to go. SAW V opens October 24th.

SAW V

Extra Tidbit: At this point, the only thing left is to combine this franchise with NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET or FRIDAY THE 13TH.

wow

That really looked fake! especially the blood + I wouldn't consider this a "red band" trailer, it's not even gorry like the first Saw films, I'll pass.

Sonny Corleone: "It's a horror series for 15 year olds.

Holy shit, that says a lot about today’s’ society when movies as gratuitously violent as "Saw 3" are aimed at 15 year-olds. Granted, they aren't on par with recent gorehound French films like you've named, but in comparison to the rest of mainstream genre fare being produced today, the "Saw" franchise is still quite strong in its content. Now, the plot lines get more and more childish with each entry, but that doesn't mean that all young adults should be exposed to that kind of stuff.

theotherness

No you're not the only one that remembers that but I wish I didn't remember so it would be as if these turds would never exist. The first one was the only decent one. The third one had some funny kills. The rest are garbage. Once you start watching horror films like Inside and Martyrs that have been coming out recently it puts this series to shame. It's a horror series for 15 year olds.

Am I the only person who remembers that they have planned on stopping at six movies? And therefore we're nearing the end? So they'll try and make these sequels halfway decent every time?

Am I really the only one who remembers that?

They way that guy was yelling reminded me of Nic Cage at the end of Wicker Man. They should of got Cage for this film in the first place.

Is this really supposed to be scary? The entire scene was filmed like a commercial you would see on MTV. More Mountain Dew Code Red anyone?

You said it tsukasa13. I hate how these flicks have become more about what kind of traps they can come up with rather than a good story that, as you said, the first one had.

I was pretty shocked when they announced they were going to continue making more after #3 (well, not entirely; these flicks make money and Hollywood loves its greenbacks).

If, say for instance, the writers had the story (to be told over a certain number of films) planned out from the beginning like the writers of

If, say for instance, the writers had the story (to be told over a certain number of films) planned out from the beginning like the writers of LOST, then I wouldn't mind how many of these things they make. But, sadly, they've become half-assed movies just like (almost) every other horror film before it.

I'll probably be checking this out, but like tsukasa13, I'm not hopeful.

pretty lame

way to simmilar to the eye trap in saw IV, and i didnt even like that one. liked it better when it was more of a game then just a crazy complicated trap... also, not very tense.

here's a fun fact. remember saw I? how the "trap" scenes were just quick flashbacks that lasted mere seconds, with the exception of amandas? wouldnt it be great if we could go back to that. rely on the story rather then just long trap sequences....

sigh.. ill still be seeing it... but my expectations are low..
