Stan Bush’s song ‘The Touch’ was integral to what was literally the greatest film scene of my childhood. It played when Optimus Prime took the fight upon himself in the animated TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE. Now, twenty or so years later, Stan Bush hopes his song will make a comeback in TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN. The song – which you should also remember Mark Wahlberg covering in BOOGIE NIGHTS – has been rerecorded by Bush, who has submitted it for the film. According to sources, all of whom are Stan Bush, the new version is “killer”.
Maybe it’s because when I was a kid I saw TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE more than I saw my parents, but I love the song. I love “Dare” too. It’s no exaggeration to say that Stan Bush is living in his own little world, and that he has pretty much lived off of ‘The Touch’ for two decades, but I don’t see why people are dumping on the song. It is f*cking epic.
