Jason Statham Fresh off getting periodically electrocuted to keep a mechanical heart pumping in CRANK: HIGH VOLTAGE and currently blowing shit up mercenary style alongside Sylvester Stallone in THE EXPENDABLES, Jason Statham may be looking to get right back on the action saddle with THE MECHANIC, a remake of the 1972 Charles Bronson flick of the same name, under hacktastic director Simon West. At least if Production Weekly's twitter feed is to be believed. It's not always on the ball so take it with the requisite grain of equal parts sodium and chloride. The original starred Bronson as an aging hitman who befriends a young man looking to enter the killing people business. Though if the IMDB is to be believed the film will be "totally reimagined as a spy thriller in a post 9/11 world" from a script by Shane Salerno. You guys figure it out.

F**K yeah! I could see him in this. While we're on the subject has anyone seen the new Kelly Brook pics? NICE!

I'll see any action movie with Statham. Crank 2 FTW.

Haven't seen the original, but I'd just like to go on record saying Simon West isn't THAT bad a director.

As for the Death Wish remake? Stallone is developing it as a starring vehicle for himself, last I heard. But it doesn't sound anything like the Michael Winner original, which is perhaps the most realistic portrayal of vengeful psychopathic vigilantism I've ever seen.

I'd rather see Stallone in this remake, but I'm not overly interested in a remake of this movie at all. I'd much rather see Sly do a reimagining of Death Wish.
