Sometimes simplicity is best. This poster for Breck Eisner's remake of George A. Romero's 1973 classic, THE CRAZIES is just that.

It has that 80's horror poster feel. It also strays away from showing key characters which makes the movie more intriguing in my opinion. The plot for the movie is also just as simple but great: The inhabitants of a small Iowa town suddenly plagued by insanity and then death after a mysterious toxin contaminates their water supply.

The cast is rather enjoyable as well Radha Mitchell, Timothy Olyphant, Danielle Panabaker, and Joe Anderson. Arrow reader Joel Robertson gave us his review of CRAZIES today. He got to see an early screening of the film and rather enjoyed it.

After looking up Danielle Panabaker, I couldn't resist adding this photo.

Extra Tidbit: I see a lot of potential in Joe Anderson. Plus after seeing the cast for ROGUE'S GALLERY, I've gotta see it.

Looks Sweet
Actually got to see this film with George Romero and the Q&A he did afterword was excellent. It would be nice to see the original re-issued on Blu-Ray with a commentary from him.

Joe Anderson IS a fine actor.

It takes place in Iowa? That's where I'm from! It's not everyday we get a movie that takes place here, so I'll be there opening night.

This could be good
Romero's is okay, nothing worth writing home about. This is a situation where a remake could actually improve upon the original. And Danielle is pretty foxy.

Actually, the director's named Breck Eisner (not Brock). He's the same guy that did Sahara a few years back. I agree though, the poster works really well and yes, Danielle Panabaker is super hot, although I personally think she looks kind of weird in that picture.

Me likey.
Excellent poster. I've been looking forward to this film. I myself hail from Iowa and am curious as to how it'll look in this movie. Haven't seen Romero's version yet, but I'm sure I will after I see Breck Eisner's version. Btw, SAHARA is a kick-ass flick.
