The Lost Creepshow 2 story Pinfall: Take a look inside the comic adaptation

Last Updated on July 21, 2021

As some of you might know, unlike the first film, CREEPSHOW 2 only contains only three stories (Old Chief Wooden Head, The Raft, and The Hitchhiker) instead of the five tales contained within the original CREEPSHOW flick. Story goes that there were two more stories set to appear in the film, but they were scrapped due to budgetary reasons.

The other two lost stories were Pinfall and The Cat from Hell.

The Cat from Hell was eventually filmed as part of the "unofficial" third film in the CREEPSHOW-series TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: THE MOVIE (which is one of my top favorite horror pictures of all time. Just saying.) but the second short PINFALL has since been forgotten to the sands of time.

Well, not quite.

Back in December, Arrow Video recently released a 3000-unit limited-edition Blu-ray of Creepshow 2, which boasted a plethora of special features, including this little gem:

Creepshow 2: Pinfall – limited edition booklet featuring the never-before-seen comic adaptation of this unfilmed Creepshow 2 segment by artist Jason Mayoh

Turns out the tale was turned into an old school EC comic book, fitting, for the above mentioned Arrow Video release of CREEPSHOW 2, and The Truth Inside the Lie has a full in-depth review of the book which you can check out some preview images below.

For more info on the PINFALL comic, you can check out the whole in-depth af review HERE. The interview with comic's artist Jason Mayoh HERE. And you can still purchase the CREEPSHOW 2 Limited Edition for Arrow Video HERE.

While the first CREEPSHOW was directed by George A Romero, the sequel was helmed by directed by Michael Gornick (who was the cinematographer on the first film). Romero did, however, write the screenplay, based, like the original film, on stories by Stephen King. There is a CREEPSHOW 3, released in 2006, but the follow-up had no involvement from Stephen King or George Romero.

CREEPSHOW 2's coverbox was why I didn't go into the horror section of my local video store as a kid. True story.
