Tom Hiddleston does the swap with Michael Fassbender for Jim Jarmusch’s Only Lovers Left Alive

Time to make a fairly decent trade.

Tom Hiddleston will be replacing Michael Fassbender in Jim Jarmusch’s ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE. This is an interesting project from the director since it is described as, “an unusual love story between two vampires who have been in love for centuries.”

I don’t expect to see any sparkles or tween actors in this tale of romance amongst the immortal. Mia Wasikowska is attached with John Hurt and Tilda Swinton hopping on board to co-star. There is no reason given about the swap nor have I heard anything previous to this but Hiddleston is stepping into Fassbender’s leading role.

Jarmusch stated that the project was a, “crypto-vampire love story set against the romantic desolation of Detroit and Tangiers. Then went on to say, “I’ve been imagining this film for years. I can’t wait to now realize it with these remarkable collaborators.”

Wasikowska and Hiddleston will double the pasty white love. I don’t mind the switch between the two actors, even with my Fassbender preference. Honestly, I’m way more intrigued by what Jarmusch has in-store for us with this vampire story.
