When actors leave the business behind (willingly or mortally), you never know what you'll get for their last project. Sometimes it's THE ROAD TO PERDITION, sometimes it's STREET FIGHTER.

I don't know if Joaquin Phoenix will adhere to his self-imposed retirement, or if it's merely a temporary diversion. But for the moment, he has left us with this final work: TWO LOVERS, a romantic drama with Gwyneth Paltrow, from his WE OWN THE NIGHT and THE YARDS director James Gray. Even more bittersweet, the movie premieres through On Demand cable a month before it hits theaters.

Extra Tidbit: It's probably a safe bet that Phoenix will be back from "retirement" as soon as he gets bored. After all, Anthony Hopkins has "retired" about 12 times.
