Verbinski’s RPG

The world of Role Playing Games has always been a fascinating one. I for one, never took them up for fear of developing acne (kidding!) and/or having my face shoved through a locker. This stuff is still popular no less–so much so, that Gore Verbinski has decided to make a feature film on the matter.

Based on a 2007 article in the Wall Street Journal, Verbisnki’s film will examine the online fantasy role-playing world and its detrimental impact on the real lives of players. The article–by Alexandra Alter–focused on a married man who spent almost 20 hours a day on a computer, existing through beefed up version of himself. In reality, he was a diabetic, chain-smoking 53-year-old. Steven Knight (EASTERN PROMISES) is set to pen the script.
