Voltron gets producers

Giant transforming Power Rangers robot movie go! This is what I think of when I think of “Voltron”. It seems as though the 80’s cult animated series has finally nabbed a producer. Atlas Entertainment with the combined powers of Charles Roven, Richard Suckle, and Steve Alexander who produced GET SMART, THE INTERNATIONAL, and THE DARK KNIGHT are taking a stab at it.

There are seven Voltron variations, which is a few steps away from being Gundam. You’d think the Gundam idea would be better than a Voltron idea, but it sure beats the WING COMMANDER idea.

The original Voltron centered around five super cute young pilots who helm their own robot lions which when combined formed Voltron…blah, blah, “Power Rangers”. Anyways you get the gist, Voltron debuted literally right before I was born to only end barely a year later, so needless to say I didn’t get the opportunity to watch it.

Sony is currently the studio that has the deal, but who knows if they will hold onto it? I’m sure they will because of they will want to rival Paramount and TRANSFORMERS.
