JoBlo.com crush object Rachel Weisz has joined the cast of Peter Jackson’s drama THE LOVELY BONES, an adaptation of the best-selling Alice Sebold novel of the same name. In it, young Susie Salmon narrates from Heaven the events that unfold after she’s brutally murdered – namely, how her death affects her family. Weisz will be playing Susie’s mother, whose role will be expanded for the film. Production is scheduled to start in October in Pennsylvania and New Zealand. Weisz can next be seen in director Wong Kar Wai’s wistful road trip drama MY BLUEBERRY NIGHTS, the romantic comedy DEFINITELY, MAYBE alongside Vince Vaughn in the Christmas anti-comedy FRED CLAUS and in director Rian Johnson’s sophomore directorial effort THE BROTHERS BLOOM.
