Rainn Wilson, currently kicking ass as Dwight Schrute on “The Office,” will star in the DreamWorks comedy GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE based on his own concept. The film will star Wilson as a “lonely geek” who’s looking to practice with women and hires a prostitute to pose as his girlfriend. Wilson brought writers Mark and Brian Gunn to the pitch based on a script he had read that they wrote for Wilson’s “Office” co-star Steve Carell (titled JUVIE, it would star Carell as a white-collar guy accidentally sentenced to a juvenile detention hall). Producing GIRLFRIEND will be Ivan Reitman who worked with Wilson on another girlfriend movie, MY SUPER EX-GIRLFRIEND. Wilson has a number of projects in the works including BANZAI SHADOWHANDS with Jason Reitman (hold on, I’m starting to see a connection here…) and KANAN RHODES with Bob Odenkirk (“Mr. Show”). The actor can be seen next in JUNO with Jennifer Garner and Ellen Page….directed by Jason Reitman.
