Winchester starring Helen Mirren hits Blu-ray this May

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Somehow I missed the Spierig Brother's period horror flick WINCHESTER starring Helen Mirren when it screened in theaters back in February. Mixed reviews aside, I'm still looking forward to checking out the true ghost story once it arrives on Blu-ray.

And speaking of which, today we have news that WINCHESTER will be hitting Digital April 14 and following shortly afterward, the film will land on Blu-ray and DVD on May 1. Again, I'm excited to own this film on Blu-ray… Even if it features merely one single special feature, which you can see the details about below.

So go ahead and check out the cover art and special feature below and then make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think of the Winchester Mystery House in the comments below or on social media!

Special feature:

  • Making-of featurette with cast and crew interviews

Synopsis:

Inspired by true events. On an isolated stretch of land 50 miles outside of San Francisco sits the most haunted house in the world. Built by Sarah Winchester, (Academy Award®-winner Helen Mirren) heiress to the Winchester fortune, it is a house that knows no end. Constructed in an incessant twenty-four hour a day, seven day a week mania for decades, it stands seven stories tall and contains hundreds of rooms. To the outsider it looks like a monstrous monument to a disturbed woman's madness. But Sarah is not building for herself, for her niece (Sarah Snook) or for the brilliant Doctor Eric Price (Jason Clarke) whom she has summoned to the house. She is building a prison, an asylum for hundreds of vengeful ghosts, and the most terrifying among them have a score to settle with the Winchesters…

WINCHESTER is written and directed by Michael Spierig & Peter Spierig and stars Helen Mirren, Jason Clarke, Sarah Snook, and Angus Sampson. The film hits Digital April 17 and Blu-ray/DVD May 1.
