No Karate Kid crane?

I loved the Karate Kid but I also thought the crane-kick was kinda stupid, besides even the filmakers also agreed its not a real karate technique. Then again its a victim of its own sucess as over the years its became the stuff of parodies.

But video games??! Is this how Jaden is doing his "research" for the role?! Maybe he's going to replace the crane-kick for HADOKKEN in the fi...

Maybe he's going to replace the crane-kick for HADOKKEN in the final scene, and get some stupid made-up oriental philosophy proverb to justify like "True powers come from within, USE it" echoing through his head just before he does the special move.

I also bet they're going to use wire-work for an "entertaining" mid-air fight scene.....in the school yard....EEESSSH!

The problem with remakes is that everything gets old. Let's say that they go ahead with The Karate Kid remake right?

20-30 years from now, it'll be outdated. Hell it might be outdated by 2012.

Everything gets old, and nothing is sacred it seems. It'll be a vicious circle of remake after remake that it's going to be lame.

This is like the 5th article i've seen on this site today about remakes. Jesus, I know we're in a recession but come on already! Considering he's Will Smith's kid, and daddy himself is producing, they'll probably bend over and take it up the ass from the kid if he wanted to.

Secondly, if the kid wants to do what he wants, I say let him. Maybe then they'll realize they could do something original instead of making unnecessary re-makes!!!!

Like I would want to see a remake of this with a 10 year old anyways... I don't see why everyone is getting upset. Remember THE NEXT KARATE KID? Yeah, no one else does either, same thing here. Sure, this is offensive, but it is to be expected with Hollywood completly running out of ideas and scampering back to when movies were fun, the 1980's.

The more of the original they leave out, the less likely that people will like it and therefore it may do poorly enough to not warrant a sequel.

I'm sorry, but I don't know what games he's been playing, but most of your fighting games aren't exactly what I'd call a real life simulation.
