All we care about these days is the next Batman flick, IRON MAN 2, and of course, the sequel to DAREDEVIL. But virtuoso director Sam Raimi wants to make sure that we don't forget about his young man with the spidey sense. When asked about the recent success of various superhero films, and the effect they will have on his planned fourth installment of Spider-man, Raimi had this to say:
I hope we don't react to these very good and sometimes bad superhero movies around us. I hope that we just [look] ever deeper into the truth of who Peter Parker really is—as a human being and the unique character, and that we celebrate that, which is a lot of the reason I want to make this next picture. I still believe I have an understanding of Peter Parker as the character that I have not quite put onto the screen yet.
For our collective sake, we hope that his "understanding of Peter Parker" equals more than a campy musical number in a jazz club. No you were not high on acid, that really did happen.
Extra Tidbit:
If Sam Worthington doesn't play Spidey, I'm out.

NO MORE BREAKS...
After the disaster he made of the Sword of Truth series, it's difficult for me to get excited about anything else he does. I was riding the line with Spidey 3, but Legend of the Seeker pushed me into the "How bad is THIS going to turn out?" group.
...that said, the only way you'll catch me watching another film with his name attached is if it's someone else's copy. I'm not contributing another penny to advance his career remaking and murdering any other fiction I've enjoyed. |

Raimi's a great director. Even Spielberg had flop. So lay off and let the man do his job. I'm looking forward to S4.
Where's the talk about Drag me to Hell? |

DO PEOPLE CARE ANYMORE?
I don't know. I think the Spidey phase has passed. Still want to see it though. I'm that stupid. |

CUT THE GUY A BREAK FOR FUCK'S SAKE..
The first film was on TV the other night, and it's still pretty fun for me to watch. The 2nd is also still a blast. The less said about the 3rd the better, but it wasn't a "Punisher: War Zone"-level dealbreaker, it really wasn't.
You know what? Raimi's spent close to a decade of his own life making Spidey flicks. I'll listen to him. I'll let the ill-fated 3rd film pass. And I'll be seeing the next one.
I guess the fanboys would be happier here if Michael Bay was directing. With big robots and shit blowing up like crazy.
Also--everybody seems to cum over Iron Man, when that first film followed what Raimi did in Spiderman 1 almost to a T. The original "Superman" and Spidey are the superhero-movie templates. |

SPIDER-MAN 4
I don't care what all the shit talkers say, I'm excited for this film and the fact that Raimi and Maguire are back makes it even more exciting, I know that whatever they do it'll be awsome, now they know what works and what doesn't and they'll take that into consideration and deliver an awsome SPIDER-MAN film, I can't wait! |

People, he's two for three in the eyes of most (though I realize not all). Give the guy a chance to redeem himself. I'm honestly not expecting the movie to suck OR be good at this point. How about we just wait and see? (And to the fanboys, it's kinda your fault that the studio forced Raimi to put Venom in
Spider-man 3. Just saying.) |

Forget the haters. If Raimi can bring back the quality of the first 2 movies then I'm all for it. Despite it's flaws, Spiderman 3 had some ideas but were just executed poorly. |

I'm hopeful he also finds the time to have an understanding of Black Cat that has yet to be put on the screen, and that understanding includes clingy spandex. |
