Exclusive: Ed Harris and Dakota Johnson character cards from Cymbeline

William Shakespeare has been updated in countless ways over the centuries, most recently with modern twists like in Kenneth Branagh‘s HAMLET, Baz Luhrmann‘s ROMEO + JULIET, and now with the outlaw infused CYMBELINE starring Ed Harris, Ethan Hawke, Milla Jovovich, and many others. Taking a cue from the Shakespearean SONS OF ANARCHY, the lesser known play is given a biker makeover that looks pretty damn action-packed.

Featuring many familiar faces, CYMBELINE looks to make a violent debut soon and we have an exclusive character card from the film. Take a look at The King himself and Dakota Johnson as the romantic Imogen.

Academy Award® nominees Ethan Hawke (Best Supporting Actor, Boyhood, 2014) and Ed Harris (Best Actor, Pollock, 2000) lead a powerhouse cast including Milla Jovovich, John Leguizamo, Penn Badgley, Dakota Johnson and Anton Yelchin, with Bill Pullman and Delroy Lindo in a gritty story of a take-no-prisoners war between dirty cops and an outlaw biker gang. When extortion, betrayal, and fiery passions threaten his criminal empire, a drug kingpin (Harris) is driven to desperate measures in this explosive, modern retelling of Shakespeare’s timeless play.

I am a sucker for Shakespeare told in unique settings and there is no doubt this is one of the more unique interpretations. Ed Harris is always a badass and between this and RUN ALL NIGHT, we are lucky to be getting as much of the man as possible. Plus, a little Dakota Johnson and Milla Jovovich will never be a bad thing. I am excited to check this film out and hope this is one of many takes on the Bard to come.

CYMBELINE hits theaters and VOD on March 13th.
