Out of all the movies at this year's Comic-Con, the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY panel was the one I was the most interested in reading about and it did not disappoint. It sounds like it's going to be a quirky, fun comic book movie, and the cast just keeps on getting better.

Peter Serafinowicz has announced on his Twitter that he'll be joining GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, and that is fan-f*cking-tastic in my opinion:

I used his role in SHAUN OF THE DEAD in the headline because it is probably the one you'd recognize his face from the most. I say this because he's done a ton of voice work, including Darth Maul in STAR WARS: EPISODE I – THE PHANTOM MENACE, Archer, The IT Crowd, South Park (Darth Chef) and American Dad. But he isn't just a voice guy: he's a hilarious actor and comedian. Before he was Pete in SHAUN OF THE DEAD he previously teamed up with Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as Duane Benzie on Spaced, and he's been on other television shows you might recognize such as Black Books, Look Around You and Little Britain.

Peter Serafinowicz isn't a big name, but he's someone I have a huge soft spot for and that's a feeling I think a lot of fans might have for most of the actors and actresses cast so far for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. It's like director James Gunn knows what familiar face or character actor to cast in his film to make nerds like me start to drool. Speaking of which, I'm hearing rumors (JUST RUMORS mind you) that Christian Slater might be in the running for the voice of Rocket Raccoon. Let that sink in for a moment. Yeah, Gunn knows exactly what he's doing.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio Del Toro, John C. Reilly and Glenn Close is in theaters August 1st, 2014.
