The last time Sigourney Weaver teamed up with James Cameron, the resulting film ALIENS became one of the most iconic sequels of all time. It seems they’re looking to strike gold twice as, according to a scooper for AICN, Cameron has cast Weaver in one of his upcoming big budget sci fi epics. The scooper relates that Weaver was on a French talk show and mentioned that she’d be working on a big budget sci fi film with Cameron but refused to elaborate further so it’s unclear whether she was talking about AVATAR or BATTLE ANGEL. (Though it stands to reason that she was talking about AVATAR as that’s the one currently in active development.) It also stands to reason that we should treat this as a rumor until we get official confirmation from either one of the Trades or Cameron’s camp. In the meantime, Weaver can next be heard in the animated fairy tale HAPPILY N’EVER AFTER and can next be seen in the drama THE GIRL IN THE PARK and the thriller VANTAGE POINT.
