Will Smith wants to get into vampire territory with The Legend of Cain

Looks like Will Smith wants to go the way of BLADE.

Smith has attached himself to play Cain, in THE LEGEND OF CAIN. But this isn’t the same Biblical tale your used to.

This according to Deadline is the “epic re-telling of the Biblical sibling tale, with a vampire twist”. Okay, now even I’m getting tired of the vampire trend. How does this go? What will Cain offer his vampire master to reject him? Will he bring him a body filled with cold blood?

Smith will produce with his partners from Overbrook Entertainment, his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, James Lassiter, and Ken Stovitz. The script was penned by Caleeb Pinkett and Dan Knauf (CARNIVALE), with Andrea Berloff (WORLD TRADE CENTER) revising. No studio or director has signed on for the project as of yet.

I can get behind the writing of Knauf, but I’m a little pessimistic on the overall project. Maybe it’s not so much the vampire thing I’m tired of, perhaps it’s Smith. I’m so-so when it comes to him these days. With one project I’m on board with him, another I’m not. I guess we’ll just see when this thing further develops.
