Trailer: 47 Meters Down Uncaged is Jaws meets The Descent

It was just yesterday that we shared the poster for director Johannes Roberts' shark thriller 47 METERS DOWN: UNCAGED, and today we have the film's trailer for you to check out. You can give it a look-see below (along with the above-mentioned poster) and then let us know what you think! 

Personally, I'm digging this trailer quite a bit. I mean how can you beat the killer elevator pitch of JAWS meets THE DESCENT? You can't, right? Plus throw in that slick upside down chick screaming as a shark comes right at her and I don't know about you, but I'm sold on this new shark-infested adventure. I say bring it on!

Written by Roberts and Ernest Riera, who also wrote the first movie together, this sequel's story centers on 

four teens diving in a ruined underwater city, who quickly find themselves in a watery hell as their adventure turns to horror when they learn they are not alone in the submerged caves. As they swim deeper into the claustrophobic labyrinth of caves they enter the territory of the deadliest shark species in the ocean.

47 METERS DOWN: UNCAGED is directed by Johannes Roberts from a script he co-wrote with Ernest Riera. James Harris, Mark Lane, Wayne Marc Godfrey and Robert Jones of The Fyzz Facility are producing and the film stars Sistine Stallone, Corinne Foxx, John Corbett, Nia Long, Sophie Nelisse, Brianne Tju, Davi Santos, Kylin Rhambo, and Brec Bassinger. The flick swims into a theater near you on August 16th.

The original film followed Mandy Moore and Claire Holt as sisters who travel to Mexico for a vacation filled with sun, fun and adventure. Lisa needs some extra persuasion when Kate suggests that they go diving in shark-infested waters. Safe in their protective cage, the thrill-seeking siblings come face to face with a group of majestic great whites. Their worst fears soon become a reality when the cage breaks away from their boat, sending them plummeting to the ocean floor with a dwindling supply of oxygen. Buy 47 METERS DOWN on Blu-ray HERE.
