Clint Eastwood is on the run in first poster for The Mule

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Clint Eastwood turned 88-years-old this year and also released two movies to theaters, THE 15:17 TO PARIS back in February and THE MULE, which will be released this December. In addition to directing both films, Eastwood also takes on the starring role in THE MULE as Earl Stone, a character based upon the real-life Leo Sharp, who was referred to as the oldest drug mule in the world as he ran drugs for a branch of the Sinaloa Drug Cartel for close to a decade before he was caught.

A new poster for the upcoming Warner Bros. film has been released which is simple and to the point.

Clint Eastwood's films have become somewhat hit or miss for me over the past decade, but THE MULE does look promising. In addition to Eastwood, the film also stars Bradley Cooper, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Peña, Dianne Wiest, and Andy Garcia.

The official synopsis for THE MULE:

Eastwood stars as Earl Stone, a man in his 80s who is broke, alone, and facing foreclosure of his business when he is offered a job that simply requires him to drive. Easy enough, but, unbeknownst to Earl, he’s just signed on as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. He does well—so well, in fact, that his cargo increases exponentially, and Earl is assigned a handler. But he isn’t the only one keeping tabs on Earl; the mysterious new drug mule has also hit the radar of hard-charging DEA agent Colin Bates. And even as his money problems become a thing of the past, Earl’s past mistakes start to weigh heavily on him, and it’s uncertain if he’ll have time to right those wrongs before law enforcement, or the cartel’s enforcers, catch up to him.

THE MULE will hit theaters on December 14, 2018.
