On set pic of Glass shows Samuel L. Jackson reprising his iconic role

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

OOOH! I am stoked for the upcoming GLASS! I'm honestly more excited for this than I expected to be. See, UNBREAKABLE is one of my favorite superhero movies of all time, as it pulled off the "grounded superhero" concept better than any attempt so far (which isn't a high bar, I suppose, when your only other competition are things like BATMAN BEGINS and the TV show HEROES). It was more of a character study with a superpower that makes sense to have stayed hidden while still doing good. I loved it.

And when it turned out that SPLIT was a stealth UNBREAKABLE sequel? It made me forgive a lot of that film's many (many) flaws. Now we get to see David Dunn take out an actual superpowered villain? That takes away some of the "groundedness" of the original concept, but it still looks like it could be fun. Top that off with Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as the puppet master Mr. Glass, and we might have a fun, unique take on the superhero genre once more.

Now, while the plot synopsis seemed to hint at a sort of "Hannibal Lector" relationship with Dunn, this set pic shows Glass out-and-about – just older and more gray. Take a look:

I have no idea what to expect, and in a world where superheroes are pilfering decades worth of stories to give a hint at what their plots might be, it's a nice change of pace. Can't wait! Viva la GLASS!

Meanwhile MR. GLASS will roll into theater January 18th, 2019.
