Some people were, understandably, a little skeptical when it was first announced that a television series set in the EVIL DEAD universe was in the works. But Starz's Ash vs Evil dead ended up receiving high marks from both critics and fans of the Sam Raimi movies, and the network renewed it for a second season three days before the series premiered. TV Insider has released the first image from the new season, featuring Bruce Campbell's Ash tearing into a keg with his trusty chainsaw.

Hail to the (beer) king, baby!

Executive producer Craig DiGregorio on this first look at the sophomore season:

When you have a chain-saw hand, this is how you tap a keg. Unfortunately for Ash, the party is cut short when he must return home to continue the fight against evil.

I still need to watch the first season, however I've heard nothing but awesome things about the comedy horror series. How excited are you for the second season?

Ash vs Evil Dead will return to Starz this fall.
