Awesome new trailers for The Walking Dead and American Horror Story

The fall television season starts up over the next few weeks but for a lot of fans, it won’t be in full swing until THE WALKING DEAD and AMERICAN HORROR STORY return this October. Both series have become not only fan favorites but also critical darlings during their runs. As AMERICAN HORROR STORY begins it’s fourth season, THE WALKING DEAD will be revving up for it’s fifth. To prepare for both, AMC and FX have unveiled new promos for both shows.

While we have seen full trailers for THE WALKING DEAD’s fifth season since Comic Con back in July, these teases just keep getting more and more intense as we get ready to find out what the people of Terminus plan to do to Rick and the other survivors. Are the cannibals? Are they a cult? That remains to be seen, but we do know from the trailers that we will see a lot more zombies and at least one undead explosion with bodies flying everywhere.

As for AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW, the teasers so far have revealed no footage, but this new trailer does give us our first look at the cast in action, including Jessica Lange’s ringleader, Michael Chiklis’ mustachioed strong man, Angela Bassett’s three-breasted performer, Kathy Bates’ bearded lady, and Sarah Paulson as conjoined twins. Each season of the show seems to have gotten progressively lighter in tone and more kitschy in style and FREAK SHOW looks no different. Still, it should be a nice exercise to see if creator Ryan Murphy can page homage to the classic horror film FREAKS on cable television.

THE WALKING DEAD returns to AMC on October 12th and AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW premieres on FX on October 8th.
