While the first official footage from CAPTAIN AMERICA is airing this Sunday during the Super Bowl, you can get a sneak at the teaser poster for the film, which should be hanging in your movie theater lobby in no time, right now. It appears as if Cap is in the midst of some ashy battle (or a post-apocalyptic ticker tape parade) and having a moment of solitude. “Contemplating the ifs,” as Jules might say.
A fine, iconic image but what’s with the goofball tagline? “Avenge” what, exactly? Shouldn’t it be AVENGE-R? I’m kinda stuck on that point but if you can get past that, I like this poster quite a bit. What do you think? If you were in the Marvel Studios marketing department what would’ve been your idea for a tagline?
